What are the school hours?

Core classroom time runs 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Extended care is available from 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM for families who need it.

How do I report an absence?

Please call the school between 7:30 and 9:00 AM to report an illness or planned absence.

Who can pick up my child?

Picture ID is required for anyone picking up a student, including parents the front office hasn't met before.

Can the school administer medication?

No — Hillwood staff cannot administer medication. Children who need medication during the school day should stay home until they no longer require it.

When does a sick child need to go home?

Students with a temperature of 100°F or higher, who are vomiting, or showing clear signs of discomfort will need to be picked up.

Are there food restrictions?

Candy, sweets, and junk food aren't permitted, and we discourage shared snacks out of respect for classmates' allergies.

What do students wear day-to-day?

Uniforms — forest green v-neck sweaters, navy slacks, and blackwatch plaid skirts, available through School Chic Uniforms — with athletic shoes in basic colors (no dress shoes or boots).

Are there grooming guidelines?

Boys' hair is kept above the collar with no braids, and unnatural hair dye isn't permitted for any student.

Is there a free-dress day?

Yes — free dress is permitted on the first Friday of every month.

How do I reach my child's teacher?

Teachers are available by phone between 1:00 and 3:00 PM, or by appointment outside that window.

How is tuition billed?

Tuition is billed monthly, with direct deposit as the preferred payment method. Contact the office for full billing details.
